Erling Haaland says he was brought to Manchester City to help them win the Champions League because they “know” how to win the Premier League.

The 22-year-old Haaland scored five goals in City’s 7-0 win over RB Leipzig on Tuesday, retaining their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

City’s best form in the competition is finishing first to Chelsea in 2021.

“Obviously the club wants to win the Champions League,” Haaland said.

“They have won the Premier League four times in the last five Premier League titles. They did not lead me to win the Premier League because they already know how to win it.

“I am here to try to help the club develop and win the Champions League for the first time.”

Despite breaking many records and closing more episodes, Haaland thinks he can get better.

“I know I can score,” the Norwegian striker told CBS.

“When I see them play without a striker, I think I want to be there! ‘

“But there is a lot of potential in this team and I think we can do a lot better. It’s easy to say, but I can score more goals. I missed many opportunities.

“I can do better in the game. “I have to get better – my head, my combination, everything.”
